Sninsky Kamen
Sninsky Kamen 22/09/2016
After I had passed the police officers in front of the border the crossing itself was easy but took some hours. Getting out of Ukraine was the easier part this time, almost a fast service. At the Slovakian border I arrived at shift change and everyone was getting some coffee first. And a second
one maybe. Supper. Checking my car for alcohol and drugs took some further time.
When I had entered Slovakia it was completely dark outside. Finally found a spot in the surroundings of a city called Snina. Next day I went to Michalovce and to the local Mitsubishi Service Center, asking for an appointment for the first oil exchange. 7500km are already past since I bought the car and it has earned some new fluids. Got an appointment for the next day and some recommendations for the area by Martin, my friendly Mitsubishi Service employee of trust. The city Michalovce, which I proofed lateron, isn’t much to look at except one has a distinctive interest in block buldings. There is a big lake called Zemplinska Sirava and a smaller one which is much more interesting because it lies next to mountain Sninsky Kamen in an area of former vulcan activities, part of the Vihorlat Mountains, and was created by an early quake. It has got the name ‚Morské oko‘ which means ‚Eye of the sea‘ and is surrounded by most beautiful forrest. Spent the day hiking and in the evening I went to a spa. After almost every camp ground has already closed for the rest of the year this seems to be an appropriate substitute.
