Coal extraction up to 16,3 Mio. tons of brown coal per year, area about 28 square kilometres plus 22 squarekilometer for the overburden.

In the history of the opencast mining Turów 8 villages were devastated. There are plans to expand the opencast to a surface of 55 squarekilometers.
