MINING AREA NOCHTEN

Mining started in the 1960s. Can’t describe how huge this area is. Met an older local man, former lawyer for patents in the glas industry, retired and keen to tell me half an hour about this area. Seems like the people living here once under ruler Herman von Pückler-Muskau were proud of their woods and cultural heritage. Hans, which is his name, is painting in oil and trying to set exhibitions to make the people remember about how this landscape has been once.
